๐Ÿ’ก How to Reduce Your SEPCO Bill

  • Stay under 200 units โ€“ Protected consumer rates save you thousands.
  • Monitor your meter every 5 days โ€“ If you reach 160 units by the 25th, reduce usage drastically.
  • Set AC to 26ยฐC โ€“ Each degree below 26 adds 8% to your bill.
  • Install LED bulbs โ€“ Replace 10 bulbs โ†’ save 30โ€‘50 units monthly.
  • Use fans instead of ACs when possible โ€“ Fans consume only 70W, ACs 1500W.

How this SEPCO bill estimate is calculated

Tariff data last reviewed: 23 August 2026. Slab rates used by this page are stored in a single file (assets/tariffs.js) and applied to every calculator on this site.

  1. Your monthly units are split across the NEPRA domestic slabs and each part is charged at its own rate.
  2. A fixed (minimum) monthly charge is added according to your consumption band.
  3. General Sales Tax at 18% is applied to the energy plus fixed charge.

The result is a base estimate. It deliberately excludes items that change every month and are printed on your own bill.

Why your actual SEPCO bill can differ

  • Fuel Cost Adjustment (FCA) โ€“ typically around Rs 3.0โ€“4.5 per unit for SEPCO, changing monthly. Multiply your units by the FCA on your bill and add it.
  • Quarterly tariff adjustments โ€“ recovered over several months and shown as a separate line.
  • Billing period length โ€“ a cycle of 33 days records more units than one of 28 days.
  • Arrears and late-payment surcharge โ€“ unpaid amounts from earlier months.
  • Fixed line items โ€“ meter rent, TV fee and, where applicable, income tax or municipal charges.
  • Time-of-Use meters โ€“ if your bill lists peak and off-peak units separately, a single-rate slab estimate will not match it.

SEPCO covers a largely rural northern-Sindh region where meter reading dates can shift, so a bill sometimes covers more than 30 days and looks higher than expected.

What you need before using the SEPCO calculator

Only one number: units consumed this month. You can find it in two ways.

  • Read the Units Consumed field on your printed SEPCO bill.
  • Or subtract the previous meter reading from the current reading โ€“ both are printed on the same bill.

SEPCO supplies electricity in Sukkur, Larkana, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Khairpur and Ghotki. Tariff notifications and official bill copies are published by SEPCO at https://www.sepco.com.pk/ and by NEPRA at nepra.org.pk.

SEPCO bill calculator โ€“ frequently asked questions

Why does my SEPCO bill cover more than one month of units?

If a reading is missed, the next bill can cover a longer period or show an estimated reading that is corrected later. Check the reading dates printed on the bill.

Does SEPCO apply the protected-consumer rate automatically?

Protected status is applied by the utility based on your consumption history under NEPRA's rules; it is not something you switch on in a calculator.

Can I use this estimate to dispute my SEPCO bill?

No. Use it to sanity-check your bill, then raise a formal complaint with SEPCO if the units or reading look wrong.

Is this an official SEPCO website?

No. BillCalculator.com.pk is an independent calculator and information website. It is not operated by, affiliated with or endorsed by Sukkur Electric Power Company, NEPRA or any government body. Always confirm charges against your official bill.

This tool gives an estimate for planning purposes. For the amount you actually owe, refer to your official SEPCO bill.

Who is a Protected Consumer?

If you use 200 units or less per month, you are a protected consumer and pay subsidised rates. Crossing 200 units in any single month will make you nonโ€‘protected for the next six months โ€“ which can more than double your bill. This is the most common reason for unexpected high bills.
