LESCO Protected Consumer – How to Stay Under 200 Units

What is a protected consumer in LESCO? If your monthly electricity consumption is 200 units or less, you qualify for subsidised rates (lifeline tariff). Exceed 200 units in any month and you become non‑protected, paying much higher rates for ALL units consumed that month.

Example: 190 units → Protected → Bill ~Rs 3,115. 210 units → Non‑protected → Bill ~Rs 8,674. That’s a difference of Rs 5,559 for just 20 extra units! To save money, monitor your meter every 5 days and reduce usage if you approach 180 units by the 25th of the month.

LESCO FCA Range 2026 – Fuel Cost Adjustment

FCA for LESCO typically ranges between Rs 2.8 and Rs 4.2 per unit. This monthly surcharge reflects changes in fuel prices. Check your bill or visit LESCO's official FCA page for the exact current rate. A 350‑unit bill at Rs 3.5/unit FCA adds Rs 1,225 to your total.

How this LESCO bill estimate is calculated

Tariff data last reviewed: 23 August 2026. Slab rates used by this page are stored in a single file (assets/tariffs.js) and applied to every calculator on this site.

  1. Your monthly units are split across the NEPRA domestic slabs and each part is charged at its own rate.
  2. A fixed (minimum) monthly charge is added according to your consumption band.
  3. General Sales Tax at 18% is applied to the energy plus fixed charge.

The result is a base estimate. It deliberately excludes items that change every month and are printed on your own bill.

Why your actual LESCO bill can differ

  • Fuel Cost Adjustment (FCA) – typically around Rs 2.8–4.2 per unit for LESCO, changing monthly. Multiply your units by the FCA on your bill and add it.
  • Quarterly tariff adjustments – recovered over several months and shown as a separate line.
  • Billing period length – a cycle of 33 days records more units than one of 28 days.
  • Arrears and late-payment surcharge – unpaid amounts from earlier months.
  • Fixed line items – meter rent, TV fee and, where applicable, income tax or municipal charges.
  • Time-of-Use meters – if your bill lists peak and off-peak units separately, a single-rate slab estimate will not match it.

LESCO serves one of the densest urban loads in Pakistan, so summer air-conditioning is the single biggest reason Lahore bills jump between May and September.

What you need before using the LESCO calculator

Only one number: units consumed this month. You can find it in two ways.

  • Read the Units Consumed field on your printed LESCO bill.
  • Or subtract the previous meter reading from the current reading – both are printed on the same bill.

LESCO supplies electricity in Lahore, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib and Okara districts. Tariff notifications and official bill copies are published by LESCO at https://www.lesco.gov.pk/ and by NEPRA at nepra.org.pk.

LESCO bill calculator – frequently asked questions

Does LESCO use different rates from other DISCOs?

No. LESCO applies the same NEPRA-notified domestic slab tariff as the other ex-WAPDA distribution companies. Differences between two households on the same tariff come from units consumed, fixed charges, FCA of that month and taxes, not from a special Lahore rate.

Why is my LESCO bill higher than this estimate in July?

Summer months usually carry a higher Fuel Cost Adjustment and higher consumption, and if you cross 200 units your whole consumption moves to non-protected rates.

Where do I see my exact LESCO units?

On your printed bill under “Units Consumed”, or by checking your bill online with your 14-digit reference number.

Is this an official LESCO website?

No. BillCalculator.com.pk is an independent calculator and information website. It is not operated by, affiliated with or endorsed by Lahore Electric Supply Company, NEPRA or any government body. Always confirm charges against your official bill.

Who is a Protected Consumer?

If you use 200 units or less per month, you are a protected consumer and pay subsidised rates. Crossing 200 units in any single month will make you non‑protected for the next six months – which can more than double your bill. This is the most common reason for unexpected high bills.
